The real deadlines
Prime Thursday–Saturday December dates in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver are largely booked by early October. Book in September for full roster choice; by November you’re choosing from what’s left (though cancellations happen — always ask).
Three themes that keep working
Winter Wonderland: winter queen and ice stag characters, white-costumed aerialists, LED snow shows. Vintage Cabaret: champagne aerialists, fortune tellers, jazz-styled cirque. Cirque Noir: dramatic black-and-gold staging with fire (outdoors) or LED (indoors) finales.
Match acts to party size
Under 100 guests: one or two ambient performers carry the night. 100–400: add a featured act after dinner. 400+: a produced multi-act show with show-calling keeps the room together.
One warning
December venues are strict about open flame — confirm before falling in love with a fire finale, or plan the LED version from the start. It reads nearly as dramatic indoors and needs no permits.
